DIALOGUE EDITORIAL

There are few things more distracting in a film than poorly edited dialogue. Utilizing the many industry standard tools at our disposal, we are able to assemble, edit, and clean your dialogue to ensure that your story can be told uninterrupted. After all, the most successful dialogue edits are the ones that the audience never notice.

DIALOGUE ASSEMBLY & EDITING

Properly assembling dialogue is one of the first (and most important) tasks in Audio Post Production. When assembling, a skilled dialogue editor will know when to use the boom track, when to use the lav, and when to use both the boom and lav simultaneously (after proper phase correction, of course).

Once all of the selections are made, the dialogue editor will then begin editing these tracks to ensure there are no awkward audio transitions, no disparities in room tone between clips, no sudden clicks or pops, and even the removal of a distracting breath or two if the project warrants it. The dialogue will be seamless.

DIALOGUE CLEANING

Sometimes editing alone is not enough to create a distraction-free dialogue track.  Depending on the quality and the conditions of the Production Sound recording (i.e. the dialogue was recorded inside of a cave. Right next to a loud generator. And the crew can be heard talking in the background...), the dialogue will need to be cleaned using a variety of tools, such as a spectrogram, to isolate noises in the dialogue track and reduce or remove them entirely.
